Doka, Ph.D. is a Professor of Gerontology atthe College of New Rochelle. Dr. Doka previously served as the associateeditor of OMEGA, and editor of Journeys, a newsletter forthe bereaved. He has served as a consultant to medical, nursing, and hospiceorganizations including the Hospice Foundation of America, and to businesses,educational and social service agencies. In March 1993, he was electedas President of the Association of Death Education and Counseling. Dr.Doka, an ordained Lutheran clergyman, was elected in 1995 to the Boardof the International Work Group on Dying, Death, and Bereavement, and electedChair in 1997.
